Anfiteatro Tito Puente on August 21, 2010: A Review from the band Friday, August 27, 2010 - 10:10

SOJA alongside Groundation and Yerba Bruja packed the place to a sold-out crowd of 4000 people on a night that many have been saying was the best reggae concert of the year in PR- Here is what the band thought:

Jacob Hemphill writes:

Puerto Rico is a special place for SOJA.  It was our first show outside of the continental u.s., and we try to come back every year.  Every year the shows get better, the fans get better. Saw some fans from the states in the audience too…Big up gomba jahbari, Yerba bruja, the whole crew. Got to kick it in Rincon for a few days and just surf, chill, so nice.

Thanks for the warm welcome and the great reception. See you all next year, way to pack el Anfi…Ease! Gracias por tu ayuda con la musica en el pasado, y por el futuro, viva puerto Rico, viva SOJA!

East Coast Tour Summer 2010 - Recap Friday, August 06, 2010 - 1:50

sojaJacob Hemphill writes:

Fun Times.  When i was a kid going to reggae shows with bobby and bird, if you had told me that the head sound engineer (Luciano “Where There Is Life” tour, Sizzla “Praise Ye Jah” tour, Buju Baton “Till Shiloh” tour) would be running SOJA’s sound…  No Way.  Thanks Soljie for becoming such an integral part of the team.  special thanks to Trevor Young, t rex, for joining as well.
The fans were killer, the venues were awesome, everyone in SOJA grows closer every day, and all good was all good as always.  Thanks to Elliott Harrington setting this tour up, and thanks to the fans for letting us knock it down.  all the practice before the tour paid off.
Ready for Portugal, Germany, Poland, and then back home for PUERTO RICO and some time off.
Working in the studio on the new album as I type this,
thanks to all,
Jacob

Review of SOJA’s Sold-Out show on 4/7! Wednesday, April 14, 2010 - 2:09

James Madison University’s publication The Breeze recently wrote a great review of SOJA’s killer sold-out show at the Clementine Cafe last Wednesday, April 7th, in Harrisonburg, VA.

“In an intimately tight Clementine Cafe last Wednesday, Soldiers of Jah Army, or SOJA as they’re colloquially known, returned to Harrisonburg for what lead singer and guitarist Jacob Hemphill called a “f-ing great” experience. The crowd there had a similar sentiment. SOJA played to an entranced, love-struck crowd of JMU students and Harrisonburg residents who were lucky enough to get tickets before the show sold out weeks in advance.”
